I first read the word Ona on a Chilean wine cork while having an intimate dinner at my little Lower East Side studio. I have since, like many postings on this blog, become obsessed with the word.

The word. And then today I spent sometime finding what “it” means and so I introduce the Ona, once indigenous peoples of Tierra de Fuego, Chile. They are now long extinct but they were a gorgeous hunting tribe. Their men were said to average 6’2.
