Happy Birthday Hosanna

We have been discussing this collective consciousness. We have been waxing woman warrior, defining path. As scribes we must continue on for no thought is too small, no emotion insignificant. Each day, brighter. Each year, more abundant. We are on a journey. And no matter time or distance or complexity we are stalwart, we are capable. We must continue on fearless. Que no? As June Jordan first wrote and Alice Walker later claimed, “We are the ones we have been waiting for“. It is written. It shall be.

And for your day I dedicate these various items:

The poem “Revolutionary Petunias” by Alice Walker:

The Nature of This Flower Is to Bloom.
Rebellious. Living.
Against the Elemental Crush.
A Song of Color
For Deserving Eyes.
Blooming Gloriously
For its Self.

The song “Mona ki ngi Xiça” by Bonga.

The Lover by Marguerite Duras.

The poem “Language” by Robert Creeley.

And the movie Dans Paris.

Mi Hermana, you’ve left me speechless (but not too speechless). This is the most heart-filled gift I have ever received. Solidarity, encouragement, reinforcement, flavor. I love this poem by Alice Walker, the opening music from Dans Paris makes my heart swell. The rest, oh the rest I’ll have to see about right now. Thank you. You are a Queen and I love you.
