Plern Plern Bed and Bike, Chiang Mai

Before arriving to Chiang Mai, I had a pretty good sense of what I wanted my experience to be like. I wanted a quiet neighborhood vibe that was not touristic or bustling. I wanted to read and be at ease. I found Plern Plern through a friend  of mine and once I saw the rooms on the site, I was absolutely sold on the rennovated townhouse turned guesthouse of five rooms. It’s small and simple with minimal design and Thai flourishes. And each guest is granted a cruiser to trek around the city in. I made my way through art galleries and little design shops on my own timeline. It’s the quiet independence that I appreciated. No tour slanging, elephant jiving, or temple proding, just a good clean space in a central neighborhood. It’s sanity at its best with just the right amount of freedom to decide on a Thai massage (ITM is blocks away) or a late night market spree. Thank you Nuk!
